Ephpod and Xplay on same Ipod?

Hi, I use ephpod with my ipod...and I tried to download songs to my ipod from a friend's computer who uses Xplay. However, the songs that I downloaded using Xplay don't show up on the ipod. Am I missing something? Shouldn't this work?
