2.0.1 Update?

After reading the FAQ on the ephpod page, am I correct in assuming that there is no way to update the firmware on a Mac iPod unless I have access to a Mac? I have 15GB and it's worked great with ephpod and macopener, but I really want to get rid of the clicks between songs that the 2.0.1 update provides. I am assuming I must use the Mac firmware, because it is Mac formatted. I really don't want to loose all my music if the Windows updater formats the drive to FAT32.
