On the previous iPods, you could use Xplay to update the Mac iPod's
firmware. Don't know if that applies to the new 2.x versions and new iPods.
I would assume it does. Ephpod has a method to do the same thing (update
firmware); however, I don't know if it works with Mac iPods.

I still use Ephpod to do my file transfers; it just seemed easier to update
my Mac iPod to 1.3 using Xplay. That may be due to my ignorance of how
Ephpod works.
