Cannot delete from or add songs to my iPod anymore

At first everything worked fine, but now, whatever I
do in Ephpod nothing happens with my iPod: If I delete
songs in Ephpod and save, the songs still remain on my
iPod. And if I try to add new songs and save, no new
songs are added to my iPod. What am i doing wrong?
