It will install the 2.01 firmware. The 2.02 formware is not released to the public. According to Apple the only difference between 2.01 and 2.02 is that 2.02 increases the brightness of the display a little. So, no big loss. Would the current Restorer install firmware 2.0.1? I got my 40 gig iPod up and running by installing everything from the CD, running through the initialization process and then uninstalling everything. Ephpod seems to be working just fine with the new iPod. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Saturday, September 20, 2003 10:28 PM To: Warren Stevens Cc: [email protected] Subject: [ephpod] Re: Gettin' the iPod Running Personally, I'd uninstall all the iPod software (including musicmatch and the iPod service). Sounds like that's the problem. Windows can pick up on the drive by itself, and the iPod Restorer (you can download it from http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/) will do what you need to convert the iPod to a windows iPod. --joe On Sat, 20 Sep 2003, Warren Stevens wrote: > > A friend of mine just got a brand new 40Gb Win iPod.
