When I press back, it goes back to the buggy song then skips right back to the song after it. It skips the same song when I browse into the artist/album as well as when I load it from the playlist. Preserve file names is off, defrag? I'll give that a shot. If that doesn't work, then as Brendan suggested, it might be a corrupt file. I tried deleting it off the iPod and manually syncing just that song, but got the same effect. This is a "rare" MP3 so no luck in getting another copy of this track, so I guess trying to decompress into .WAV and recompress back into 192kbps MP3 might be in order. Any recommended programs? -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Eduardo Delgado Sent: Tuesday, September 30, 2003 7:26 AM To: EphPod list server Subject: [ephpod] Re: MP3 not synced >I have no clue what is causing this. What happens if you press the Back button after it has skipped the song? Does the iPod play the song then? It just skips the first song when you manually pick a playlist/song? What firmware version are you using? There used to be a bug in firmware versions 1.2 (1.1?) thru 1.2.5 which caused this behaviour, due to a low hd spinup time or something like that. I had 1.2.6 short time, but I think they fixed it there. And definitely it's (mostly) fixed on 1.3. Go to the archive and search for "skip songs" for some related posts. Some things that may (or may not) help: - Use folders F00 .. F19 on your iPod - Let EphPod rename your files on the iPod to short names (i.e. don't preserve filenames). - Defrag the iPod.
