Any suggestions on the preferred kind of implementation:
per deployment -- during installation of ispman you would select 
whether to use pam or not. This would determine how the uid is store. 
This would be pretty easy to implement: Add a new config variable and 
modify the application code and templates. It would be nice to write a 
migration script for those wishing to switch.
per box -- some boxes use pam others don't. The directory would have to 
have both forms of uid. This would be a bit trickier to implement. I 
imagine some change might have to be made to the schema but I would 
have to check.
