Concurrent programming in Servlets

Dear All,

Please help me in designing the below situation..

I have multiple DB, and when request comes to servlet, so with in 
same request ( which is already a thread created by App server of 
servlet), I have to call to multiple DB, to get the records 
concurrently. 

Can any one suggest me how do i do this OR any APIs are avaliable.
