The idea makes sense to me now, it's more a matter of setting expectations appropriately. I'm not in a "we have to roll out new builds in under 30 seconds" situation, so it's not a big deal to us that the checkout & build take a little longer - we just fire off the task and wait for the email to appear indicating the results.
