Hello,
You can even use the precompiled version. The website mentions that
certain features are not available to be "accessed" with a particular
jvm. Like reflection is supported since 1.1.x , swing needs at least I
think 1.2.x, and so you should know what is available in the api for
your version to only limit what you script to. If I only script out to
AWT with custom algorithms I would be fine jumping from 1.3.x down to
1.1.x and so I think you should be ok. Also remember this because the
NIO (new I/O) is not available to these early jvm (< 1.4.x).

Subject: [Beanshell-dev] Compile BeanShell using JJDK 1.2

Dear all,

I'd like to use the BeanShell as a Java Interpreter under a Java VM
embeded in a DB server (Sybase ASE v12.5.x). As it only support JDK
1.2, and 'fully compile the bsh distribution requires JDK1.3+'
(mentioned in the developer's corner of the BeanShell homepage). Is it
possible to modify the package so that it can be compiled under JDK 1.2
(at least with basic bsh functionality)?

Thanks a lot !
Steven
