I for one would volunteer some time maintaining a branch who's primary goal 
was stability,
key bug fixes, limiting arbitrary changes, and fully QA testing and who had 
some kind of shared vision along that goal.

Branches who's intent is adding lots of features and open to anyone 
submitting code are intresting in thieir own way, but not the branch I'd be 
willing to invest much effort in besides passivly watching and seeing where 
it goes.

But yes ... this has come up before and hasnt gone anwhere yet.

My "New Years Wish" is that Pat would officially write and say he's done 
with BeanShell.   He's done a fantastic job, and given the "community" a 
great present.  But as long as he doesnt officially come out and say he's 
done,
I really doubt there'll be enough initiative for anyone or group to take it 
over.  Even better if he would "officially" apoint a group to take it over. 
I'm sure we'd find enough volunteers that to take on that task if it was 
sactioned.
