Inconsistent artifact creation

Our project uses the CruiseControl 2.7 binary release on a dedicated Windows XP box. The machine is stripped down to the bare minimum software, and we use it only as our Build Machine and nothing else. We have been running CC for close to two years, and one problem that our team has kind of tolerated is missing artifacts. About 30% of the time the artifacts for successful builds will fail to be created. I have been a subscriber to the forum since we installed CC, and I don't recall ever reading about any other users having this issue. I've searched the forums, and I have been unable to find anything related to this problem. Is this a known issue? Is there anything we can do to improve/fix it?
