Well - if you're happy managing a billion configuration files and having
a UI of something designed in 2001, then sure, you won't miss a thing.
 
We have 40 - 50 branches sometimes going at once on a distributed CC set
up and CC only allows one builder per agent.  Setting up 10 agents per
machine is out of the question.
 
All that aside - the screen auto refreshes (and can't be controlled out
of the box) so when you're scrolling to find that build that's at the
bottom, and it refreshes and you're back at the top - it sucks.
 
That and there's no search option (to find a changelist or something).
 
I could go on and on - but again - CC is missing a ton of features - is
this the way marketing works for CC/Cruise?

What do you mean by "Look at bamboo or hudson - they're light years
beyond what either version of CC offers"?

 

Please explain since currently we are using cruisecrontrol ( free one)
and can do all of the things needed.

Yeah, so there's the "cruise" official pay-per-use product and the
opensource (free) version of cruise control.

 

What features am I missing?  Look at bamboo or hudson - they're light
years beyond what either version of CC offers.

I'm leading an initiative to do away with CC here for a few reasons and
as part of this process, I've been tasked with reviewing any/all open
source/closed source CI servers.

 

But I'm quite nostalgic - why doesn't the free version of CC feature
some of the things other free CI servers offer?

 

Where's the trickle down effect from "Cruise" to "CC"?

 

Any ideas?
