Where to get info / code samples on using the CruiseControl API

Hello All:

I've searched the archives and documentation and did not come up with too much.  Could someone please respond with a few links documenting how to use the CC API?  In particular, we want to put a button in our app to pull files out of CVS and deploy on demand.
