We've been using it in several external production apps (legal services), and 
a couple of internal apps for at least 18 months now. The stability and 
backwards compatibility has been a great plus to us (and not something we saw 
at the outset), as we've managed to upgrade older CVS built custom versions 
to the latest CVS HEAD in a few hours (and most of these changes were log4j 
related and not barracuda).

To be fair, the only downside I've experienced has been the initial learning 
curve. However once you've grokked it, the speed of development, and ease of 
maintenance is very good, as compared to "competitor" frameworks (eg. 
Struts). I could go on... :)
