Dods: To install or not to install DODS

Hello all, since I'll certainly be seen as "the ranting guy" I want to explain the expectations I have with DODS and why DODS currently doesn't fullfill them. If I have false expectations, please enlighten me. The ultimate goal is to deliver a war file containing an application using DODS. This application can be deployed on any app server and the DODS jars will be located inside the war file. This goal requires DODS to be used like a library (IMO how it should be anyway) and not like a program (that is installed, like the jdk). Therefore using ./configure is _not_ an option. The configuration files will be located inside the war archive (so setting a fullpath is not an option either) and neither DODS_HOME not ENHYDRA_HOME has to be set (because I don't want to know where the war is deployed and I shouldn't need to). Current signs that DODS cannot be used as a separate library are: - need to set DODS_HOME - archive deployed under /usr/local (code smells) Like I already said, I'm currently fixing these problems (at least for runtime). But if anyone wants to help, feel free to send me a mail. Best regards, -Vladimir __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Protect your identity with Yahoo!
