Don't know if they are included in .zip/.tgz binary packages. In sources there are some test classes. You can call them from CL, they have a main(args) method. Analyzing those helped me some... Also maybe have a look at that tomcat/Struts Contribution that was announced here while ago. A little tough to follow if you are (as me) new to tomcat/Struts, but it helped me. Maybe that helps?
