as you know we are using ZEUS within JOnAS, anywhere we need to process X=
ML. The J2EE
specification is now moving from XML DTD to XML schema descriptions. Xavi=
er Delplanques
which works on Web Services/J2EE 1.4 has to deal with XML schema right no=
w, the same for
Eric Hardesty which works on J2EE 1.4/J2EE CA 1.5 (by the way Eric, what =
about your
investigations on Zeus support for XML schema ?).
So until the end of the year, we will have to move to J2EE 1.4 XML schema=
 for all parts of
JOnAS. Now here is the status:
- it seems that Zeus will not evolve toward XML schema processing in time=
 since there are
no resource for that, and there is sure no resource within the JOnAS team=
 for that,
- the JAXB standard with its reference implementation (available in the J=
ava WSDP) and
surely other implementations seems to perform exactly the same job as Zeu=
s !

So Xavier will experiment JAXB for dealing with the Web Services part. An=
d if Zeus does
not evolve quickly enough, and if JAXB is appropriate, when migrating to =
J2EE 1.4, we will
have to migrate from Zeus to JAXB.
