if it's a problem with digester - maybe it suffices to download the 
latest digester.

in the longer term I opt for this.  struts 1.1 is far better, mainly 
because of support for tiles.
1.1 RC is due out very shortly.

well - it may, but then that's the name of game isn't it :-)?
but I don't think it will - the bug seems to be well containing in 
digester, which is under the blanket.
