I've been thinking about whether we should move JGroups from CVS to Git. A lot of open source projects are on Git, so there's plenty of Git knowledge around, whereas folks might not know CVS anymore. I'm currently reading Scott Chacon's Pro Git book, to familiarize myself better with Git, and I've also set up a JGroups GIT repo on GitHub [1] to experiment with Git. If we do this, then a good time would be for 3.0. However, as the migration from CVS seems trivial, maybe we could even do it for 2.12. I'll be able to make a more informed decision once I'm done with the book. Opinions ?
