I am not a lawyer but I wouldn't be happy at all with importing code that was written under the GPL. My interpretation of the position of the Eclipse Foundation [1] is that the EPL is incompatible with any version of the GPL in any useful scenario. The license list of the Free Software Foundation also mentions that the Eclipse Public License is incompatible with the GPL [2].
