there was a thread about Airavat a few years ago. You can view the mailing list archives at https://sourceforge.net/p/jikesrvm/mailman/message/33245352/ . There's a link for viewing the whole thread at the bottom of the patch.

In short, you need to do at least the following:
- install the 32 bit libraries that GNU Classpath needs for building because Jikes RVM 3.0.0 doesn't support 64-bit builds
- build using a JDK 6 or, if that doesn't work, JDK 5

If you need more advice, please post a message that's easier to understand. A log of the part of the build that's failing would also be helpful.
