unable to understand JIRA

Hi all, I had evaluation version. I used mysq as DB. I had installed lots of plugin in the evaluation version. I Purchased an commercial license, Took an backup of JIRADB. To my surprise all the projects and plugins were imported ? My doubt is hw come plugins got imported in my new instance?? Another struggle that i have is NONE of the data got moved?
