Thanks John. 99% correct. The entire catalog of CeryleWikiPlugins is
getting quite lengthy:

    http://purl.org/ceryle/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=CeryleWikiPluginCatalog

Actually, the tag features are not in the same distribution as the
CeryleWikiPlugins, they're in their own. I've just updated the site
and have just now uploaded a new version that adds two new features
to the TagCloudPlugin: the ability to percentage-scale the font size,
and an option for the tags to link to their respective tag pages or
to search results. This is the first publicly-available distribution;
binary now, code will come later. See

    http://purl.org/ceryle/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=InstallingWikiTags

for downloading information and installation details. If you have
any problems installing let me know so I can update the wiki page
documentation. I'm just in the middle of switching ISPs so please
have patience if things are not available periodically.

There are three plugins included: the TagPlugin (aka 'Tag') to
declare tags, the HasTagOfPlugin (aka 'HasTagOf') to query tags,
and the TagCloudPlugin (aka 'TagCloud') to display them (including
lists, etc.).

One thing to note is that there was a design decision to require
that tags actually point to wiki pages. This was done so that
each tag has documentation. There's a compile-time flag called
REQUIRE_PAGE_FOR_TAG to let tags succeed but display an error
message. It is by default true (i.e., requiring pages).

One of the nice things about the tag package is that the HasTagOf
plugin incorporates the query features developed by John in the
original QueryPlugin, so that you can query on tags using AND, OR,
and NOT, e.g.,

    [{HasTagOf (( tagname1 AND tagname2 )
             OR ( tagname3 NOT tagname4 ) }]

Secondly, while this won't be useful for people right now, the
tag feature integrates with the upcoming assertion framework, so
that currently one declares a set of page tags. Using the same
syntax this will in the future declares those tags as full wiki
assertions, e.g. (assuming we're on the BurtReynolds page):

    [{Tag Actor}]

will actually be the same as asserting the (subject, predicate,
object) triple:

    [{Assert [BurtReynolds] HasTag [Actor] }]

all this in the future though... for now we have tags!

Compatible with JSPWiki 2.4.102 and newer.
