All this patch does is add a feature I really missed from my old days of programming C++ in Visual Studio. With this patch you can now add display modifiers to Watch variables. Example: oThis,x (this means that all integer values will be displayed in Hex) oThis,ub (this means that char values will be displayed in UNICODE but the other integer values will display in Hex) I have added 5 modifiers: u - Unicode s - String (toString) x - Hex b - Binary o - Octal I was thing of maybe adding others such as: c - class or adding more complex display modifiers: - to display binary values in groups of 4 (nibble) or 8 bits (byte). This is an improvement on the Netbeans Watch, which does allow you, through a menu entry, to change to Hex the display of integers, but loses does changes every time you restart the debugger. Atleast this way the changes persist between debugging sessions. I only implemented the changes for Primitive Values so I don't think they will work for java.lang.Integer Objects. Just a little promo. JSwat is my Preferred Java debugger and I do hope that you will make it into to a netbeans module, in the near future, to substitue the Netbeans debugger.
