RE: JSwat and Windows XP

Hmmm...that has never happened for me on exit.  I wonder what could be
different about their environment.  Can that open JSwat (without any files
or debugging), and immediately close it and still get the same behavior?

If I use javaw instead of java to start JSwat, the javaw command line window
doesn't go away like it should (it used to anyway) until I close the
application.  It doesn't sound like this what you're talking about, but I
have seen this with other Java applications as well.  I think it is a bug in
JDK 1.4.1, but I seriously doubt it has anything to do with this issue.

I do start JSwat from a batch file that I have a shortcut to.  The command
line start I use is "start /min javaw -Djava.ext.dirs=C:\Java\JDK\lib -jar
C:\Java\JSwat\jswat.jar".  This solves the above mentioned javaw problem.  I
wonder if they started their JSwat instances this way if it would make any
difference.

Anyway, just giving you all my info to compare with...

Both users report that it happens every time they exit JSwat. I am
wondering if it has to do with the JDK 1.4 Preferences API. It uses the
Windows registry to store the settings, and the registry, as we all
know, is a sensitive beast.
