Re: help needed with myjxta installation in a vlan environment

Thanks for the quick reply. I have used the java web
start to install the application and I was able to
connect to the public network once too (i think so, I
got a "hi" msg from gonjo, i think that was you or
some welcome bot, but nothing after that and i had to
terminate the process due to some problem i cant
recall .. probably being unable to type.)

But the problem has been that each time i click on
myJXTA icon, it starts going through the entire web
start process again. tries to install the entire thing
again.  This has happened quite a few times. ( i tried
it again right now .. but it has hung at the point
"starting application ..")

Then i downloded the files and the batch file had a
SET command missing before sp="-DJXTA_HOME=%home%"
code (at least thats what i surmised)... i changed
that and continued with the installation. I had
downloaded 2.3.4 version... it threw too many errors
and would not show me the chat window... then i
downloaded 2.3.3. and it was able to show a chat
window, but did not detect another user. 

i have already been through the myJXTA web log. and
tried to make the changes to the profile.xml and
myjxta.xml. But there are three directories where
.myjxta folder and these two files are present. i was
not sure in which directory i should make the changes.
I am not sure if i need to change the uuid from what
was given in the blog. There were some differences in
the decription of the files in the blog and the
contents of my xml files.  Hence i was really not sure
what/how to make the changes. 

i will try downloading the recent version and
installing it and would tell you of the results.
