RE: [JXTA discuss] JXTA applications

I know some work was being done with JXTA on embedded
systems on the jacknet project but gateways and relays
could be flashed with small footprints like JXME and
use larger "JXTA appliances" for rendezvous and
discovery.

The grouping of resources is a very valuable feauture
of JXTA that I think is some times overlooked. The P2P
technology is certainly compelling but the ability to
create networks (groups) of networks and related
resources is really valuable. The control of security,
lifetime, discovery and advertising is incredibly
powerful for building ad-hoc, self provisioning
networks. 

While P2P is essential for new networking environments
I think JXTA provides much more than just P2P.
