Absolutely.

When I first joined Sun, in '92, I built the licensing back end for the bulk
of the s/w products and some h/w products. This also included 3rd party products
so the actually licensing schemes varied. What was consistent was the serialization
of the RTUs (rights to use). The primary licensing lib was FlexLM (not sure what
it is called now that someone else bought it awhile back) but we incorporated
licensing libs utils or callouts (email) on an as need basis.

So, can the above be done over a JXTA network. No doubt.

RTUs for software ~= DRM for media, IMHO.
