Absolutely. When I first joined Sun, in '92, I built the licensing back end for the bulk of the s/w products and some h/w products. This also included 3rd party products so the actually licensing schemes varied. What was consistent was the serialization of the RTUs (rights to use). The primary licensing lib was FlexLM (not sure what it is called now that someone else bought it awhile back) but we incorporated licensing libs utils or callouts (email) on an as need basis. So, can the above be done over a JXTA network. No doubt. RTUs for software ~= DRM for media, IMHO. hth, - james -- James Todd :: blogs.sun.com/gonzo | weblogs.java.net/blog/gonzo MyJXTA :: use it - learn it - do it Java == platform independence XML == application independence JXTA == network independence Secure End-to-End Computing Mike Haller wrote: > Hey, > > do you think it's possible to implement a license key server with jxta? > Is there a way to "lock" a singleton resource to a peer? > > regards > Mike > > --------------------------------------------------------------------- > To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] > For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected] >
