Are the peers using different directories for their platformConfig? Did peer1 join the group it created? Did you start a rendezvous in that group? Is peer2 connected to a rendezvous? Did you publish the peergroup advertisement? I never use the shell, so I can't really help you out with the exact commands you need. Those are some things to check out, though.
