[JXTA discuss] The Necessity of JXTA

After much thinking, I believe I've finally developed
an opinion as to why JXTA/P2P is needed in the
technological arena. What I wanted to find is
something that is definitive and absolute. As much as
one can get with Bits and Bytes that is. 

And amazingly it all comes down to the User Group. A
group that represents a User, or as well a Group of
Users. And I mean it all comes down to that. On one
side is the Server, represented by Businesses. And on
the other side is the User, represented by Consumers.
JXTA is needed to bring the User into the Web, the
User is thrown into the Web. 

For instance, Yahoo! has Push but there's an
uncertainty of who it is pushing to. Google has Pull,
a kind of data mining, but without the business
context that should benefit Users. The User has to be
Isolated to be able to be thrown onto the Web. In the
technological space, there has to be a separation of
Business and Users first and foremost so that
opposites may attract. 

If personalization is stored on a server or two, then
this separation does not exist. The politics of
business will get in the way. Business is politics and
it needs to be moved away from the User. The only way
for this to happen is with JXTA/P2P. The User Group is
a personal sphere and there can be alliances of
businesses within this personal sphere without the
businesses defining this personal sphere. 

Even in the case of SETI, the search for bandwidth may
appear at a low level and yet everyone will be
searching for Use and Personalization. It will most
naturally go there. As long as JXTA is Used as a
technology, as long as decisions are made by human
users, then the User Group comes to the fore (along
with groups of Users). 

That's what everything comes down to, the separation
of Business and Users. The architecture is still one
of compromise and though it may be difficult to
envision should be tastefully agreeable to both.
