Hello Samul.

You must be in a network that implements some type of security (firewall or ports blocked). If you are behind a firewall you need to use a proxy server, in order to access to all the rdv that jxta has available on the Internet.

Otherwise you have to use a rdv (something that you have already tried). In order to work, your edge peers must be configured to use the rdv that you have created. That configuration takes place in the JXTA configuration tool, in the advanced side. You enter the protocol and address of your rdv peer. Like this:

  tcp://192.1.1.2:9701 or
  htpp://192.1.1.2:9700

I think that both work fine.

  I hope it helps.

    hi,guys:

i'am compiling the GroupDiscoveryDemo which i download from jxta.org. but when i run it, the command window only shows the message"waiting to connect to a rendevous" and the application can't continue. i know the reason is that there is a judgement line" while (! rdv.isConnectedToRendezVous()) " in the source code of the demo.
i tried to simulate another peer acting like a rendezvous. and then i started this demo, but it did't work. So,i just wondering that can any of you guys give me a
good solution to build a rendezvous so that i could continue research the demo?

    thanks
   Kevin
