Newbie: Which startup docs to use?

Hi,

From what I have learned and seen as to what Keel provides, our company is most 
likely going to use Keel as our platform for development. But after a week of wading 
through documentation and source code I still can't get a working Keel demo going.
I would like to demonstrate an existing working system, locally build, to convince my 
colleagues that Keel is the way to go.

I have installed Eclipse 3.1 on Windows XP with Java SDK 1.4.2., Ant 1.6.5, Maven 
1.0.2.  I have tried the following:

a) I downloaded the Keel app on sourceforge (Helm 1.8) and the graphical Keel App 
starts, but I can't find the documentation to say how  I should use it. I tried the menu 
entries, but it does not make sense.

b) I read wiki documentation that says one should start with Ant - but this fails 
halfway through (the builds cannot get everyting, etc).

c) I discovered (in the forum) notes that says Maven is the way to go (contrary to the 
wiki Starting notes!), so I worked through chapter 13. The interaction between 
Maven/Eclipse is not clear to me (yet), but if I run maven from the commandline it 
complains about some jars that it can't get (others it did download). If I run it inside 
Eclipse (as an External tool), I get similar problems.

My Questions:
a) Should I continue with the maven route?
b) Which documentation set is the nearest to the real thing?

I may come back with more specific questions after I have clarity on the above

Any help/pointers will be appreciated
