Hi Gerald. I certainly am interested in Luxor! My main interest is=20 getting back to relatively simple, fun application programming. Java suffers from Sun's being so server centric, thus not putting=20 enough energy on true desktop integration for Java. On the other hand,=20= Python, in my experience anyway, is a bit chaotic and the libraries not=20= cleanly aligned. And the weird use of Tk rather than its own windowing=20= seems a bad decision. So I'm hoping for Groovy or some similar "de-verbosification" of Java,=20= along with a reasonable GUI management system like Luxor apparently is.=20= Certainly separating GUI specification from code is an important step. I've just learned about Luxor from a response from you to a posting I=20 made to the Groovy list about Thinlet integration. So I haven't used=20 it yet. I'd really love Luxor to flourish so hang in there. Is there much=20 further to do? You also mention Python. How would Luxor be used with=20= Python? Would swing actually provide the windowing for Python? .. or=20 are you using some other Python windowing system? FYI: My interest is in scientific programming, see my site below. =20 We're working hard to find a good environment which would make it easy=20= to do scientific modeling, including 3D, GIS, and agent based systems.
