I have browsed the site, and again I can stop the MBeanServerInterceptorConfigurator :) Don't know if it is only a matter of fixing the policy files, just be aware that that operation should be forbidden. > My original purpose was to show off the mx4j HTTP Adaptor and > give the public access to live instances of the mx4j sample > MBeans. Sure, 1 tier is simpler. Last time I tried to run a web container under a SecurityManager I gave up, since the security coding of the container was not even considered: I had to grant so many permission to the starter codebase that the security manager was kinda useless. It will be interesting to see the policy files you used with Tomcat 5. > I could see it being worthwhile to provide a mx4j jmx management > war with the mx4j distro. The HTTP adaptor can be revamped I guess, and starting a web container from an MBeanServer is not difficult. Then providing a war containing a cool web console should be very simple, and anyone can customize it at will, by using Servlets, JSPs, Struts, Webwork, Velocity, or - why not - Canvas (http://beust.com/weblog/archives/000093.html). I think will be quite simple to fit the current HTTP adaptor on that. Soon.
