The documentation for the HTTP Adaptor 
(src/docs/english/http-adaptor.xml) on line 242 reads

import mx4j.adapter.http.HttpAdaptor;

however the HTTP Adaptor is now in the package mx4j.
tools.adaptor.http, so the line should read

import mx4j.tools.adaptor.http.HttpAdaptor;
