Here is the Q-build report with list of delayed and dropped features: <http://qa.netbeans.org/q-builds/Q-build-report-200204260820.html> The NetBeans 3.4 release page is: <http://www.netbeans.org/devhome/docs/releases/34/index.html> Maya Venkatraman published document about redesign of NetBeans startup experience - NetBeans Out of the Box Specification. The proposal significantly improves user's first experience with NetBeans. Sub: [nbui] [ANN] NetBeans Out of the Box (Startup) Redesign Spec <http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=314411&listName=nbui> The JavaDoc tab was removed and replaced by JavaDoc Manager dialog (accessible from Tools menu). That's good because the tab was not used frequently. The only shortcoming is that now it is not obvious how to access JavaDoc index files. Sub: [nbui] Access to JavaDoc index files <http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=312671&listName=nbui> Several discussions on nbui continues from last week. Namely the discussion about Looks UI design proposal and discussion about whether to use Windows Look&Feel on Windows platform by default or not. Sub: [nbui] [ANN] Draft of Looks UI Design - proposed UI for Looks API in NetBeans 4.0 <http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=309508&listName=nbui> Sub: [nbui] Proposal -- Use Windows L&F on Windows <http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=310020&listName=nbui> And this is a story how unknown module due to a bug in build system become famous. Seriously, the schema2beans module which caused the building problems appears to have useful functionality which could be used as part of common infrastructure. Sub: [nbdev] Using schema2beans for settings <http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=311383&listName=nbdev> Do you wish to have a toolbar in NetBeans Editor with most useful editor actions? Then read Mila Metelka's proposal and give him a feedback. Sub: [nbdev] Editor Toolbar UserView <http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=311667&listName=nbdev> Matthew Flower ported several Emacs actions to NetBeans editor and is willing to continue in this effort. What do you think about it? Is it still needed now when the externaleditor module exist? Or has Emacs some actions which it is worth to implement in NetBeans editor? Sub: [nbdev] [Editor] Emacs keybinding compatibility <http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=312169&listName=nbdev> Are you unsure about naming scheme of Public IDs in our DTDs? Then read the following thread. Sub: [nbdev] Quick DTD question <http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=312374&listName=nbdev> ClassPath API, something what is really missing in NetBeans. Svata just posted first version of API and asked for review. Sub: [openide-dev] Please review: ClassPath API <http://openide.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=314576&listName=dev> Does NetBeans have any cool features? Sure!
