Welcome to the issue #7 of the NetBeans newsletter.

To avoid speaking about 3.2 beta only, let's start with some politics.
NetBeans has new governance board:
<http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbannounce/msg00022.html>

But, some like it technical. If you do, look at nice thread about preventing
deadlocks. Maybe you want even add some your experiences with fighting the
deadlocks.
<http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg04781.html>

Newly contributed module, the j2eeserver should provide infrastructure for
deployment and testing of components in application and web servers.

And now we finally get to the 3.2 beta release. The beta cycle for the 3.2
started.

Jesse branched the CVS repository. He also wrote a how-to about it. If you
are interested in coordinating the next release you can look at:
<http://www.netbeans.org/release-checklist.html>

Thanks to Rudolf Balada the continuous build of 3.2 is running and the
nightly builds are available for download. We invite everybody to download
and test the builds:
<http://www.netbeans.org/downloads.html>

Jan Chalupa started voting about the most annoying bugs. If you find such a
bug please vote. The instructions how to vote can be found at:
<http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbusers/msg04829.html>
The resulting bug parade page is available on:
<http://qa.netbeans.org/release32/netbeans32_bugs.html>

BTW the current bug statistics for the release 3.2 beta is a follows
(Enhancements are not included):
P1   : 7
P2   : 48
P3   : 197
P4   : 240
P5   : 78
-----------
Total: 570
So it looks like there still remains something to kill. You can get an
overall feeling about the battle at:
<http://qa.netbeans.org/bugzilla/graphs/all_nb32.html>

Help with the "What's new", "Credits" and "Readme" files wanted. If you
added a new feature please, fixed a bug, introduced a new platform the
NetBeans IDE runs on, etc., please let others know about the features and
about yourselves.

This newsletter issue was brought to you by Petr Hrebejk. Maybe I forgot
something, because I was too focused on the 3.2. To prevent this from
happening next time please send your contributions for the newsletter to
[email protected], or volunteer for some of the next newsletter
issues as Trung does for the issue #8.
