The list is at <http://www.netbeans.org/third-party.html>. There have been some interesting responses so far. <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06524.html> <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06542.html> <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06557.html> <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06559.html> - After interesting discussion on the output window and the need for terminal emulation, it looks like we may soon have a contribution from Ivan Soleimanipour for his termulator: <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06556.html> Proposals: - Jesse published a proposal for a bootstrap launcher which would ultimately make more of the core updatable via the update center. <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06583.html> <http://core.netbeans.org/proposals/smart-launcher-and-updater.html> Interesting Discussions: - There have been a number of discussions about Lookup this week. The first was started by Yarda about persistence of lookup results: <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06485.html> - Next was (also started by Yarda =) of course) about the interaction of lookup and propertysheet and its similarity to the ServiceType/PropertyEditor relationship. <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06528.html> - Finally, an enhancement to the APIs to support persistence was posted by Yarda: <http://openide.netbeans.org/openide-dev/msg02245.html> - Speaking of ServiceTypes, there was some discussion about how to prioritize or order them. After one proposal to use the manifest, it seems the consensus is instead to have xml layers support this. <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06571.html> <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06579.html> <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06582.html> - On the UI front, Ian posted some defaults for the different workspaces when using MDI. <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbui/msg01943.html> - There's also been renewed interest in seeing the freestyle browser in action after frustration with finding the BeanInfo functionality. Petr Hrebejk is working on creating a version which can be used as a demo. <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbui/msg01940.html> <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbui/msg01950.html> - If you're interested in using NetBeans with skinlf, we've had a helper jar and instructions posted by an anonymous member =): <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbui/msg01957.html> <http://www.l2fprod.com/software/skinlf/> ========================================================================= This issue of NetBeans Weekly News was brought to you by Rochelle Raccah.
