Petr Hamernik decided to accept the job and nobody seems to have any objections. Let's wish him good luck. <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06689.html> * Features proposals - Are you interested in possible features of the 3.3 release? You can look at various proposals sent this week. Any comments or ideas for new features are of course very welcome. - The planed features for OpenAPIs and core are summarized in Pavel Buzek's email. <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06712.html> - The most important one is probably the new projects support. Please remember that you can watch the interesting and rich discussion on special projects mailing list. <http://projects.netbeans.org/projects-dev/> - Mila Metelka proposes API for adding a lexer into the editor <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06768.html> - Very interesting is also Mila's proposal about annotations in editor. It might be the first step to features like marking error's directly in the editor. <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06721.html> - Martin Entlicher introduces possible new features for NetBeans 3.3 in the area of support of version control systems. <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06762.html> - Mike Schilling published a document about possible features of writable JAR file system (WJFS). <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06686.html> - New features of FormEditor can be found in Tomas Pavek's' email: <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06747.html> - Ales Kemr is proposing new features for the famous Autoupdate module. <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06745.html> - Do you also think output window could do more? There are several enhancements in for the Output window proposed by Ales Novak. <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06705.html> - Everybody knows that performance is important issue. Having right tools for checking the performance automatically would probably be big help. Proposal for performance tools and the following discussion can be found at: <http://performance.netbeans.org/proposals/testplan.html> * Discussions & Contributions - There was a proposal of very nice contribution - a XML module by Sandeep Randhawa. Yes, I want to have XML support in NetBeans also and if it would be possible to extend it to support XSLT, even better. <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06674.html> - We also received a crossposting from JPython mailing list. Maybe there will be special module supporting JPython in NetBeans. <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06668.html> - Not being able to use the keyboard in all UI components was and annoying problem. Which lead to very long discussion on nbui. To find the consensus between all the supported OSes might be hard, but it looks promising and things may change in the next release. <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbui/msg01960.html> - There was also interesting discussion how far support for modules supporting new languages could go when we use MOF, grammars etc. <http://www.netbeans.org/www-nbdev/msg06625.html> ========================================================================= This issue of NetBeans Weekly News was brought to you by Petr Hrebejk.
