disable the popup switcher on ctrl+tab

i have decided to try netbeans out and like it very much so far. however, one major thing is pissing me off beyond limits and that is that when i hit ctrl+tab it opens this weird popup instead of swapping between tabs

i have tried to configure this in the keyboard bindings but the shortcut ctrl+tab is still caught by the annoying popup switcher

i have googled around the internet and someone said that this cannot be changed in netbeans 7.x however, i have downloaded it recently and have a version 8.x. 

is this possible to change?
