Hej Thusar,

I prefer Maven for new plugins.

1) It's easier for others to contribute, when put to github, and easy to use Travis CI this way.
2) Signing also only a maven plugin - http://wiki.netbeans.org/DevFaqSignNbm
3) As long as Maven artifacts for new versions are provided and the NetBeans Maven Mojo is maintained, I see no problems.

Best regards, Benno

Hi All,

What is the generic trend of plugin development for NetBeans, do you prefer creating a Maven based plugin or still working on Ant based plugin for netbeans.

I am asking with the consideration that a plugin developer has to

1) Keep the plugin on Github and may want to use the TravisCI type of build some day

2) Have to submit the plugin to the Plugin portal for verification by signing it

3) Maintain the plugin for all the upcoming versions of the NetBeans IDE Platform.
