I suspect such a module will have to be a community effort -
I don't see Sun allocating resources to do this in the near
future.  But it would make a great "student project" - I don't
know where you teach, but in the Czech Republic, where
the NetBeans core development team is based, it is not
uncommon for students to have a collaborative project
for a semester, which they defend at the end of it - in fact,
that's how NetBeans itself got started.

Anyway, if someone wanted to take the reins and get such
a project underway, I'm sure there would be others who
would also benefit and who would be willing to help.
