Hi,

I manage the team at Sun which is focused on improving the performance
of NetBeans.  Although we made significant improvements in 3.5 release,
there is still a lot of hard and interesting work to do.  We are now
looking for one more engineer.  The job location is Prague, Czech
Republic.

Here is the description of the open position

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- measure various performance aspects of a Swing application
- identify the performance problems
- investigate the identified performance problems and find the solutions
- track performance numbers to ensure the performance of the application
  does not regress 
- educate the other engineers about the performance techniques
- write HOWTOs and guidelines on performance tuning

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

- excellent programming skills, at least three years programming in Java
- good working knowledge of Swing
- familiarity with performance tuning in java, has done it before
- good communication skills, good English in both written and spoken form
- exposure to the whole development cycle of a software product
- systematic approach, having sense for details and ability to handle
  low-level coding tasks

NOT REQUIRED BUT WELCOME KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

- working knowledge of NetBeans OpenAPIs and NetBeans internals
- familiarity with both Windows and Unix operating systems
- working knowledge of open source development tools (cvs, ant, XML, XSLT)

EDUCATION:

- university degree in computer science
- or university degree and at least 5 years in software development
