Looking for resource/consultant for app dev guidance

We are few weeks into developing a product's GUI based the NetBeans 
platform and I am trying to determine if there are any good resources out 
there (stuff on the web) or consultants that can provide some support 
during the ramp up learning curve. I've given the team the "NetBeans: The 
Definitive Guide" book and they've been trying to work through stuff but I 
think some expertise would help ease the pain and get us where we need to 
go more quickly. Apparently, there are a few changes between the current 
NetBeans platform APIs and the 3.3.1 documented in the book (from what the 
team tells me). Any suggestions or people that are qualified and interested 
would be much appreciated. Our team is located in Alexandria, VA - USA.
