Hi Jack,
I am happy to see that now, everything is with UTF-8.
It would facilitate all the stuff..
Hereafter a list of suggestion that could facilitate your life:

What would be also nice is to put all text appearing on the left side of 
the NetBeans Edge also in the xml itself.
Then I could fix somes errors (like EDI in place of EID, Inscriptions in 
place of Insciption, ...).
And if someone want to translate the Edge in another language, you don't 
need to modify your template.
The translator just need to translate text appearing in the xml. Point.

Maybe also add references to images in the xml file.
So, for each story, you will have a <img href="path\to\the\image" 
position = "left|right" />
If no tag img present, it means that the story has no images that must 
be displayed.
Otherwize, it display the image aside the first paragraph, in his left 
or on his right.
By doing that, you will have only one XSL files for every issues to 
come. No more modification therein. Except if your look or layout is 
totally changing.
Only XML would be different for each issues, but you don't have to 
modify the xsl for each issue.
It would facilitate your jobs but also ours. If you commit the xsl 
somewhere,
then we can  take the xml, apply the xsl and see the result on our 
screen to see if everything is correct and well rendered.

Please also note that the NetBeans Edge posted on mailing list contains 
somes "! " in middle of text.
It appears at least one time in the english version, and a lot of time 
in the french one. No idea why, because it's not appearing on the site.
And I suppose there are the same html page.
