Ok let's give this a try.

Start by visiting https://www.javaone04.com/portal/registration.do
You should already have a username and password. Please enter this 
information.
If you forgot your password there is a link to retrieve it.

Once you have logged in you should be taken to step 3 of 5 on the 
JavaOne registration page.
Here you see multiple options. Below the radials for Conference you will 
find a checkbox that says NetBeans.

Check this box and press continue. This will register you for the event. 
This should work.

If that does not work. I suggest to follow the directions at 
https://www.javaone04.com/portal/reg.jsp?code=NetBeans

You can go through the same form from the beginning and only select 
NetBeans (Day) in the form.
