sorry for confusion. By dev build I mean Developement Build (trunk) on 
the download pages. That's also the answer to your question where you 
can get it.
As for pros and cons, trunk builds contain the latest changes. It is 
possible that MDR will get incompatible with 3.4 at some point (e.g. 
when new "Looks API" will be commited to trunk). Also the Alpha update 
center that you can connect to from dev build contains daily updated 
versions of MDR modules - so you can get the lates changes in the 
modules there. For those who want to make sure that the build they 
download is quite stable we have so called QBuilds (also available from 
download page), which are trunk builds that our QA approved as being 
stable enough for everyday use.
