Hi Andre, there is no need to "prepare" the openide. As Francois-Regis pointed out, you can look at UML2MOF tool as an example of a standalone application. If you wrote a code already and it does not find the default repository, usual mistake is that people include mdr.jar on the classpath of their standalone application - don't do that - mdr.jar is a NB module that unregisters default MDRManager implementation from the lookup and registers it's own MDRManager implementation that is configured via NB layers - since your standalone application contains no layer XML files defining the default repository, it is not found.
