Hello all, Just recently i've looked at the OMG site, and there is a new XMI1.3 formal release, together with the XMI 2.0. I've looked at the 1.3 spec and it is very lean. 46 pages or so. It contains only the rules for XML Schema production. Does this mean that the XMI document production rules did not change from 1.2 to 1.3?? More specifically: if we have a tool, which produces/consumes the XMI1.2 documents, but doesn't produce/consume DTDs nor Schemas (e.g. simple UML tool), can this tool claim XMI1.3 compatibility? Can anyone, with the more intimate knowledge of the OMGs XMI cooking process, comment on this? I think mr. Matula has some presence there? Do you know anything about this, Martin? Drat, the OMG specs are not very informative; and the http://www.omg.org/issues/xmi-rtf.html#Issue3843 issue is needed badly :-( one more issue: on the xmi1.3 spec (formal/03-05-01) , 2.2.2 paragraph (Fixed Schema Declarations), i see the following: <attribute name="xmi.version" type="string" use="required" fixed="1.1"/> what about that XMI version number? shouldn't it be 1.3 instead, or at least 1.2? Or maybe this is intentional, and these Schema production rules do apply to XMI1.1 documments too? -- Tomas Juknevicius Senior Programmer No Magic Lithuanian Development Center e-mail: Tomas_dot_Juknevicius_at_nomagic_dot_com WWW: http://www.magicdraw.com
